It is terrible that our kids are not safe these days. I remember walking all over our small town, too, as a kid. Every generation seems to get worse with disregarding the safety of children. I'm with you, mom kids were never out of my sight.

we bought 3 tickets, all losers. I'm like you with the student loan! first thing to go! Then, bills, and yes, help the folks. I would like to think I'd sock a lot of it away for retirement. for splurging, I'd prob. get a smaller house on one level. I'm tired of stairs. maybe some lipsosuction! it's fun to dream!

I'm all about supporting small businesses. I love the mom and pop shops. Small businesses really are the backbone of the country. Sadly, many have closed in our area the past few years. :-( I hope that all turns around soon!

I have the same issue...I think I've mastered a weakness, and yet...some circumstance will make me erupt. I got right back to the same response. It's so aggravating!!! I think it takes a lifetime for us to grow up. :-)

I love that quote. I'm learning that prayer is really more about US realigning our agenda w/ God's, rather than HIM granting what WE want. It's a hard thing to learn. Great post.

I love that scripture. It promises that nothing will be wasted, that all our struggles are building character. Life is hard and discouraging at times, for sure, but God uses everything to shape up. It's disheartening to see your own weaknesses in your kids, I know. All three of mine have qualities from both my husband and me that I wish had not trransferred! But I bet your son has some of your great qualities as well. :-)
