I don't comment a ton, but I read everything! Did you make it to the slack or reddit groups? The slack one seems like it's working pretty well for people.

I saw something in open thread about you doing a comedy thing, something about bananas? Was that you?

Put yourself in the next available row. Don't write over anyone's info. What you put in is how it will look, because Google sheets saves continuously. You may even see text appear as others are adding things in real time. Best of luck, let me know if you still have issues!

The Toast: truly too good for this flawed world.

Hi tahi, all my sympathies are with you right now. I had a similar experience my first year and it was extremely painful for the students and faculty. I don't have any advice, just wanted to say that from someone who has gone through something similar, I sincerely hope you find strength and support within your program and outside of it. Be kind to yourself.

"I don't really see how you can put that on me"

Oh, but we do, Sam. We can and we do.

Thanks so much everyone! Really good tips and advice. I'm playing about 20 minutes a day, as suggested. At one point I was having some arm pain, in my right wrist area, but I gave it a rest for a couple days and it resolved. I'm excited about the book and YouTube recommendations!! Thank you!!!!

Toasts, I finally purchased a guitar this week, after months of knowing I wanted one but dragging my feet about the logistics! It is so pretty, and I'm so excited. This is my first guitar ever!! I played flute for many years, so i'm not new to music in general, but strings are new territory.

I'm looking for some recommendations for beginning guitar resources. I can read music (but not tabs), and right now I'm just learning chords, as opposed to classical-style playing. Specifically, I'm trying to find some songs with accompanying chords that are appropriate for a beginner. For a lot of what I've found so far, I end up having to transpose it into G before I can play it and, while a good exercise for my rusty music theory brain, it isn't optimal. And yes, I am working on the more difficult chords, but bar chords for instance are beyond me at this point. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
