I think you raise some valid points. Like in Cinderella, the stepsisters cut their toe and heel off to try to fit in the glass sipper. Some of them are crazy like that. But they were all used to try to teach lessons and at the time, the best way to do that was to scare the children. Now they are really just used for entertainment so their effect in this day and age has faltered. This is a real shame. Children shouldn't be wondering off on their own, you should be kind, being the most attractive isn't everything. I am a true lover of fairy tales but you really make some valid points about how safe they are with children in their original forms.
