I am having trouble working out how to ask a question of you, so I have commented here (please remove the comment after reading it). I am an autistic parent of two autistic boys. I have a very supportive neurotypical family who have been informed on autism through multiple sources but especially through me and my boys and also my blog www.endautismstigma.wordpress.com I have quit other Facebook groups because I have been unhappy (very sensitive to) with their rhetoric and I think you guys are awesome creating a safe space for autistics we really need it. I actually have a question that may not be relevant for your group but as I am not a part of other groups because of the reason I just explained I was wondering if you would consider asking for a response in this group. My neurotypical sister is a primary school teacher and volunteered for a community liaison position with a funded Australian organisation (which is paid) to support parents of autistic children (yes, just the parents). She lives in a small rural community with poor resources and needs some ideas as to how she could engage parents. There are probably about a dozen families in the area with autistic children. If there are any ideas on how to keep the group focused on helpful and positive approaches, activities or interventions for parents that would also be greatly appreciated. I understand if you cannot help, however please let me know if this is the case so that I can try and locate information elsewhere. My email is rachel_mcnamara2005@yahoo.com.au Thankyou for your time. Rachel
