A friend of mine warned me before I checked the site, but it still was gut-wrenching to see this post. As a community member-turned contributor, The Toast holds an especially close place in my heart, as the first big place to publish me as well as *pay* me. I don't know if I'm going to find another site that is such a close match to my peculiar sensibilities.

Thank you for being a place for weird girls. Thank you for all the writing on religion. Thank you for being one of the best places for writing on Asian American experiences. Thank you.

Tatiana and Olga. I think I can pretend to be Tatiana for awhile, but I'm more Olga. The having inappropriate crushes and writing about them in my journal clinched it. A couple points for Marie, though, and like, one, for Anastasia. Because I do enjoy being meanly funny on occasion.

Active on forums for the show House.
Lurked forever in The Lord of the Rings fandom then wrote fanfic.
Got censured for being rude on a Wild Thornberries forum.
Um, I loved "My Hands Are Bananas" on YouTube to an embarrassing degree?

I vote for Mr. Thornton and Margaret Hale in North and South! It was the happiest I've been reading about a heterosexual couple since Pride and Prejudice!

And whatever kind of person Clark Gable was (ugh), I'm obsessed with It Happened One Night! The Walls of Jericho! The impromptu roleplaying! The time Peter carries Ellie across the river, and he smacks her butt a bit! It's basically one long montage of foreplay!
