I wish I could share some good homesteading tips to make it all work, but I have the same problems you do! And actually the last few years around here have been pretty pathetic, garden-wise. Living in the suburbs again just seems to increase the outside obligations and I wonder whether gardening is even worth it at all. Of course, I enjoy gardening... and not so much running around to all the ends of the earth... but trying to fit it "all" in is exhausting. I'm never quite sure of what balance to shoot for!

I haven't watched the DVDs yet, but it looks like the worktext is just a somewhat edited version of the old comb-bound book. There are still the same number of lessons and they are all on the same topics. (Took me a while to remember where I filed the old one, since my ds actually did write in it and I put it away. Thus my need for the new version for my dd.) The wording of the instruction is a little different, but the subject matter is the same, and it's divided up the same way. So it does *seem* like the DVDs ought to fit with the old book.
