Oh my. Well, I had a discussion last night with my family on how Comic Con has changed over the several years including a little origin and the rumblings against the changes while playing euchre. I then went home and made a tiramisu 'brain' cake to go with the zombie attack prank we played on a co-worker last Friday.

Oh and the whole cake making process and prank have been documented to post to my blog when I get home today.

My guiding principle for Twitter is pretty much #19 on your list. If someone who follows me on twitter that I don't know outside the twittersphere already were to meet me in person they shouldn't be too surprised by who they find. As with anything else I do online, if I wouldn't say or share something in my offline life I'm not going to do so online. It's a lesson that many people learn the hard way, but everything you do online can be found. It's just a matter of how long it takes and how much effort someone if willing to exert to find it.

Excellent post. I am very definitely one of those creative people and always have been. My mom has a story from parent teacher conferences when I was in elementary school where the teacher set aside her book and explained to them that I was a very good student - when I was on the same topic as the rest of the class. Part of the reason I left my last job is because my boss was driving me crazy with his micro-management.

I've also led creative people. All of the things you said are definitely true and one thing I've found from myself and others is that making a seemingly arbitrary decision to change something a creative person worked on is a surefire way to breed frustration and resentment. Communication is vital, even if it requires asking the same question five different ways to get the answer needed to be on the same page (which would be one of the places patience comes in). There's also a fine line between allowing creative people the space to work and leaving the boundaries so wide that they feel unsupported and alienated.

These are just my observations. The biggest and best thing you can do when leading creative people is to take the time to get to know them and how they work because assuming that what works for one person is going to work them all is a mistake that will haunt you almost immediately.

I'm an ENTP with strong Sensing tendencies so there are times that the intuitive and sensing sides duke it out with each other inside my head. I think it actually makes me more aware of my deficiencies in either direction, which is probably a good thing.
