Yes, thank you for doing that, we always need more Broad City converts.

All I hear is Ilana Wexler incredulously saying "ssaah-HAAAND-wich sshha-HOPPP?!?" Which is pretty fitting, when you think about it.

THANK YOU. I was complaining to a friend, saying that Ello definitely wasn't ready for this kind of exposure and he retorted, "Yeah but it's in beta, what do you expect?" I expect better, even if it is beta! It's not like they're reinventing the wheel, after all. ETA: I'm a graphic/web designer, so I don't know why I didn't feel like my opinions were backed up. :

Totally. I've started taking pre-requisite orgo classes and drawing all the rings and structures and wedges and dashes and making sure everything has the proper geometry is so damn satisfying. Coming from an art/graphic background, it's a fun cross-over.

After watching Dancer in the Dark years ago I still can't listen to Björk without feeling all the feels. (I mean, more than the standard Björk-related feels.)

Related reading, Come Out Swinging: The Changing World of Boxing in Gleason's Gym. Only a section is devoted to female boxers but she has some mind-bending things to say about the reason why women box vs. why men box and how they fit in with the culture of the gym. And why they were let into Gleason's the first place (it's economics, stupid).

I box and I feel welcome at my gym. But it is very interesting how gender is performed there. No one is watching us on TV so it's not quite the same level of spectacle, but (for me) it's a weird psychic balance between aggression and passivity and which one I feel I'm 'supposed to' express.

One time I worked up the courage to voice concern that a boyfriend was spending too much time at the apartment and my roommate paused and then replied, "Yeah, well, his best friend just died unexpectedly." And then I felt like a huge asshole. Trump card :(
