I just finished this yesterday and I agree with you about the ending. It didn't really seem to have a point, other than learning to live with the struggle of mental illness, which is fine but I would have liked something a little more satisfying... it didn't have to have be all sunshine and rainbows, but just a little more conclusive I guess. But overall I enjoyed it pretty well. It was actually my first John Green book, and I think I'll definitely pick up The Fault in our Stars sometime, but maybe not his others.

I've had the same struggle of motivation and not really having time to comment. I don't feel like I have any less time than I did a few years ago, but a few years ago I also let my writing suffer in favor of blogging. When I decided that it was better for the blogging to suffer, of course it did, so it happens. I'm still trying to hang around though because I don't want to fall off the face of the planet. :)

You probably have, but have you read Rose Under Fire yet? I read it last month and it's really good. Definitely check it out if you haven't already!

I've been interested in this one but it's too bad there's not really anything special about it.

And I think the accent thing can be tricky. Some writers try to write dialects and not everybody loves that, so it can be a tricky thing to balance.

I love that your dad asked why you haven't blogged in a while! Hope your holidays were happy! :)

I think you're really on point about not knowing what research is good research, that's definitely a struggle for me. A lot of times I don't want to have to write anything that requires research out of fear I'll get it all wrong, but it's unrealistic. That's why I think it's key that those working with the author (agent, editor, etc.) really try to work on this as well.

Of Metal and Wishes isn't really creepy, so don't let that be the only thing to turn you off from it. I enjoyed it back when I read it, but it's not a book that has really stuck with me since.

So many great kitty names, but Primose is also a great choice! Also, your cat is adorable.

Ready for fall? Yes! Apple picking? Actually never done it before. Pumpkin picking? Yes! Sweater weather? Surprisingly, yes, so long as it's not winter sweaters, just fall sweaters. Presidential elections? Ha ha ha... definitely not.

Crooked Kingdom is on my list as well (and everyone's), and Disruption does sound interesting!

Does your kitty have a name?! I really love orange cats, but don't tell my cat. ;) (Though my cat's coloring is gorgeous!)
