I am a SAHM. I never went to college, for several reasons, the main two being I never had the desire and I wanted nothing more than to be a wife and mommy. My first child is 9 and my second is 4. I worked until my oldest was 6. Despite never having gone to college, I had wonderful, well paying jobs. In fact, I made enough to easily take care of myself AND my children had I not been married. So not having a college degree doesn't necessarily mean a woman cannot take care of herself.
I am now a SAHM. I quit a very good paying job just to stay home with my children. I have a daycare in my home, I have an online store in which I sell the things I make, and a successful blog. But most importantly, I am home with my children. On top of all this, we will begin homeschooling our children next year. Should anything happen to my husband (which is always likely, as he has a very high risk job), I could STILL easily take care of my children and myself. And stay at home while doing so!

I was at home with my parents, we changed the channel before we even saw her, knowing it would be terrible for my 9 year old daughter, 4 year old son, and my dad.
My husband was at the cigar shop, with his friends. He is a Christian, but has never attempted to "guard" what he watches, unfortunately. I was quite surprised, however. Even though he was in a building full of men, he chose to walk outside, sit in the car, and talk with me on the phone throughout the entire halftime show. He said after the first minute of watching her, he felt disgusting. He said he half expected the men at the game to start throwing dollar bills at her. He even asked to make sure our children weren't watching it.
God is surely working on my husband, as he normally would have sat through it, staring like many men. I'm thankful that prayer always works. Sometimes it takes awhile, but God DOES change hearts!

Wow. Here lately this has really been on my mind. Daily doses of political and religious controversy on facebook and a few blogs have caused me much anguish lately. Literally breaking my heart over how far our country and world is straying. While prayer and reading have always been an important part of my day, God has really been impressing upon me to separate myself from the "internet world" and focus more on Him. I think that will likely include my blog, too. Thank you for this, as it was just further confirmation!

What a great maternity perk! I was licensed in insurance and loved my job, but ended up quitting after I could't find quality childcare for my kids. Now, I operate a daycare out of my home where I get to be a pseudo-mommy to lots of beautiful babies!
I'm hosting a giveaway today, hope you'll check it out! http://13plumconfessions.blogspot.com/2012/07/SGA...

I actually laid in bed about 3 nights ago, thinking about this very thing. Wondering what will happen if (when) we aren't just laughing stock for our beliefs, but are persecuted. I laid there thinking about how strongly I believe what I do, and how nothing could persuade me otherwise. Then, I had a dream of standing in a line, with my children on either side of me holding my hands. My husband was next to one of my children. We watched as they went down the line, asking parents if they believed in God. One by one, the parents said yes, and were shot, but the children were left. In my dream, I remember trying to decide if I could leave my children. My husband actually woke me up from the dream because I was crying so loudly I woke him. I pray this isn't something we actually face!

I will be praying for her as well. She is such an inspiration to so many women, especially to me!

I adore watching these families because of their faith. It is the one show I can watch and feel completely uplifted!

I actually refused to link up because my kitchen is so bad! Actually, your kitchen is shaped just like mine, so I am guessing they are similarly sized! Mine, however, has half ripped wall paper from me going into a temper tantrum about how much I hated my kitchen! In fact, they are so alike, that only 3 of my 4 burners work, too! And one of those only works if I turn it on, then bang the stovetop to shock it! lol http://13plumconfessions.blogspot.com/2012/07/25-...

At first, I thought YOU were writing that advice and I thought "oh no, she can't be saying this!" Then, I realized it wasn't YOUR advice! lol Thank you for the prayers, by the way. Things have been much better lately, and we had a wonderful talk about things. I do appreciate it very much! http://13plumconfessions.blogspot.com/2012/07/25-...

You know, I have a great friend who is terribly, terribly picky, at 30 years old. I mean, so picky she only eats beef and potatoes literally. I asked why, and she said "You know, if I told my mom I didn't like something, she would just make me things until I like them. She never made me try new things." It does fall back on to parenting! http://13plumconfessions.blogspot.com/2012/07/chr...
