Two things come to mind:
1. Do we not have City employees in maintenance that could be doing this work...for months now? Employees that I see doing nothing frequently. OR what about inmates and people working off a jail sentence or fines?
2. If this article is meant to also address Auburn's lovely sandbags, it explains why the City of Auburn has "no money " to pave and fix huge potholes in their roads and has lowered speed limits to 30 mph on many heavily used roads like West Valley Hwy.
This has impacted the commute. The sandbags are ugly....the commute is uglier.

A sad bit of news to read today. I have always looked forward to watching one of Dr Ireland's cool weather videos. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Oh my gosh, what a sweet big brother! I live with three furkids and when I brought home the last pup, my oldest, a black lab "adopted" the new guy right away. It is so cool to watch how they show the kid the ropes - how to use the doggy door, where the best spot to sunbathe is. Dogs are wonderful gift in our lives!

So, just thinking out loud. If the folks who are going to get this reduced price are at the poverty level...where do they get the money to buy the computer to use the broadband? Second wondering out loud....why only people with kids who are on the free lunch program? Why not other impoverished folks with no kids or the elderly who would benefit from being able to stay in touch with family.

Soooo, inquiring minds wonder why he refused to testify. Does he think this will exonerate him?

Aside from the completely over the top "discipline" why in the world does he need to turn off the lights to spank a kid? That is WEIRD. And Mom was pretty into it too. And he is a Judge. Scary...very scary.

Given the number of times I have complained about Auburn school buses speeding through residential zones, this accident does not surprise me. The school bus drivers hang out en masse at the Top Foods about two blocks from this busy intersection (which also has a lot of pedestrian traffic). The bus driver was probably late to pick up the kids (aka children) after his or her coffee this morning. Guess it will take a death to slow them down...

And the sad thing is, he probably will not ever be able to work again. Even if he won millions, he is going to be too disabled mentally to know based on the reports.

It's very possible the body that was there has been moved - which is why the dogs are identifying the site. They can smell death for a long time. It sure would be nice for the family of the person who was put in that grave to be found - whether it is Susan or another missing person.

Okay Ken, maybe it seems foolish right now, but if one person riding a bike is hit by a car, the State will be sued for millions for failure to "protect them from themselves and/or unforeseen accidents". May seem stupid but remember the motto in the US is now: sue sue sue.
