as a current standing Academic Spouse who absolutely loves being the academic spouse (because I have a much worse student debt for a much lesser degree, and less than zero desire to EVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH ACADEMICS PROFESSIONALLY EVER AGAIN) I have honestly never been so happy with the lack of career-based stress in my own head. Even though I'm currently working an office job I really, really like knowing that the moment spouse gets offers elsewhere, for however long the offer stands, I can just throw everything in a suitcase and leave with them, guilt-free!
I sincerely hope everything works out for both of you :) and good luck with the move!

I'm not saying the highlight of my day is Frank Grillo's propensity to post slightly-beat-up looking selfies on instagram but I have also mentally renamed it "hotdadstagram" and i'm not even sorry

things not seemingly covered yet in this thread:
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Interesting premise, rave reviews, UGH SO BORING all your children speak like forty year old men and I legitimately keep forgetting they are meant to be children
Tomorrow When The War Began, I'm sorry, the first one was alright but you really gave me no interest in picking up the next 10 okay thanks
Pamela. I haven't even read this one, but had so many impassioned rants targeted at me by trustworthy friends having to read it for class I will never pick it up
Actually I've never read any of the "Classics" like Austen unless they had zombies included because yawn so boring, ditto romances, any of them, they're all terrible, please stop

I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting and things if I were to read them older and wiser I would hate and things I would add if I had more time to read things but this will have to do for now
it has been most cathartic reading everyone's hate though

YOU FORGOT THE PART WHERE EVERYONE IS NAKED, LIKE, ALL THE TIME

(I actually love Number of the Beast but I am fully aware of how absurd the entire thing is)

I once had a job - in a university - digitizing staff records, many of which were screeds upon screeds of printed out emails, often in 24 POINT COMIC SANS, IN THEIR PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT RECORDS.

Imagine if you will, the pain of having to take these printed out emails, de-stapling them, scanning them, and processing the images.
Of emails.
Creating a digital backup of a printed backup of a digital communication.
IN 24 POINT COMIC SANS

Days late to the party, but as a woman slowly burying herself in yarn and talking about space with her scientist: this was fantastic.

The Crypt Keeper.
Yes, the animatronic horror-movie introducing punmaster puppet. I was convinced I'd marry him when I was about 7. I'LL LET MYSELF OUT

(other than that; anyone remember SeaQuest DSV? Jonathan Brandis broke my heart.)
