I was mostly joking, I don't think she's actually an anti-vaxxer in the usual human sense, just that she thinks the rabies vax is unecessary for indoor cats in our area.

Also, no shit your dog wouldn't treat you affectionately if it weren't your dog.

You know how when your wife comes home, she smiles and kisses you and asks you about your day? Well let's pretend you're not married, imagine she's lived on another continent her whole life and you never even met. Now when you walk up to her? No smiles, no kisses, no small talk. That's right: your wife doesn't really love you.

I think my vet might be a cat anti-vaxxer. We recently took our cat in for a check up and she was like "Well, he's due for a rabies shot, but he's an indoor cat with no interest in escape, and there have been no reports of rabies in this county for years... technically I'm just legally obligated to tell you that he needs one, and you can tell me that you'll get it done somewhere else..."

We opted not to get the rabies vax, so I guess that makes ME a cat anti-vaxxer too. Also fount out that the black spot on his chin is cat acne, and the cure for cat acne is Clearasil.

At this very minute I am reading In for a Penny by Rose Lerner, which is about a Prosperous Merchant's Daughter Whose Name Was Penelope And She Was A Great Bookkeeper And She Eventually Married A Broke Nobleman. It's part of my Learn To Like Romance Novels campaign and it's going well.

Have you considered a treat ball? It took our dummy cat a while to figure out, but he eventually got the hang of it.

Go on, go on. I'm buying a bike soon, and I need to know where I will be safe from smirking teens. I don't have to go all the way out to Flushing Meadows, do I?

I don't know anything about publishing, but THANK YOU for what you're saying about designers. These days with Squarespace etc. there is absolutely no excuse not to have a decent looking, usable website. Good graphic design is slightly harder to come by, but just as necessary. It's not like anybody is going to pick up your book at the store because they recognize the author name.

I think I might sign up for that, but can you give me any info on when they need people, and how long they like you to stay for shifts? I work during regular business hours, so I don't want to take up a spot in the training if it turns out I could never actually volunteer.
