I was dating this "writer" when I was diagnosed with cancer a few years back. When he wasn't talking about himself, he took notes about things that I said and often asked me "Can I use that?" when I told him about what happened at my doctor's appointments. On several occasions, I caught him stroking my biopsy scar before a major surgery. I'm sure while thinking about his great American novel about the brave, average white man who stood by his poor, sick girlfriend. Unfortunately for him, I pulled through with little complications, was declared cancer free, and stopped returning his calls. I don't think he's published anything of note.
