Governor Lucey just quit Prosser's campaign and withdrew his support from Prosser. That is bigger news.
From the news story, the protesters look like a nice group of people. Seems like all they want is some representation in the statehouse. I looked over these comments and it appears that the violent, loud, and ignorant statements are coming from republicans. Anyone else notice that?
You make an excellent point ofsilence. But I would like to add that we as a people have agreed to pay collectively for teachers, (WI is #2 in the nation), street plowing(these folks are on call 24/7), fire fighting and EMTs, police, etc. Walker's bill also takes money from the poor, the disabled, the elderly, farmers, private sector working people, while bowing to his corporate country club conservative masters. He is no friend to the people.
Cheers!!
It's time we wake up and look around. There is plenty of money. Walker just gave 130 million in tax breaks to big businesses-many of which are headquartered out of state. Then he tells us we’re broke. He intends to reduce services to the poor, disabled, elderly, and squeeze those who teach our children, heal our sick, put out our fires, protect and serve, grow our food, and take out our garbage.
He attempted to ram his legislation thru in dark of night. This is a money grab by Walker and the out of state corporations that pull his strings. This is a fight to determine what kind of Wisconsin we believe in and want our children and grandchildren to live in. This is a war between corporate rule and honest, hard working people of Wisconsin – Nothing Less. It's time to exorcize the statehouse.
