you really don't get it yet, do you?

As Mr. Nader stated on "meet the press": since 1980, the USA has experienced the largest transfer of wealth (in the $trillions BTW), control, and power from one class (workers) to another (capitalists). This transfer was not only witnessed by BOTH democrat and republican-controlled Congress/Senate & White House, it was PROMOTED by BOTH parties.

Let me state that again, for emphasis:

since 1980, the USA has experienced the largest transfer of wealth (in the $trillions BTW) control, and power from one class (workers) to another (capitalists). This transfer was not only witnessed by BOTH democrat and republican-controlled Ciongress/Senate & White House, it was PROMOTED by BOTH parties.

"Greater Atrocity"???:

It was Bill Clinton who signed NAFTA into law, after receiving his cues from George Bush Sr. It was independent Ross Perot who opposed NAFTA in the '92 election.

"Greater Atrocity"????:

It was Bill Clinton who ended "welfare as we know it", sealing the immiseration of millions of Blacks and Hispanics, historically integrated at the BOTTOM of the working class. This is Marx's "reserve army of the unemployed or under-employed". Instead, they received "workfare", thus saving $billions in "wasteful government spending"..

Historical and political/economic necessity dictates policy to the twin parties of capital, not the bought-and-paid-for representatives residing in the executive and legislative branches of government. The capitalist class of present day is the most arrogant and avaricious of any generation since the days of John D. Rockefeller when businessmen connived, robbed, and murdered their way to power and wealth.

That is why Mr. Nader MUST run for president.

Capital doesn't pay tribute to antiquated concepts like borders, government, and sovereignty. It is an international system for production and distribution of goods and services.

Hi-Tech management rags now rate "global metro-areas" in terms of their work-forces, cost-of-living, average education, competitiveness, and "worker motivation". This multi-tiered assignation based on universal demographics rates MANY American cities as "2nd tier" or "3rd tier" economic prospects (for venture capital infusion). Cities like Detroit MI are on a par with Bangalore India. The fact that $billions of capital are now being channeled from Sand-Hill Road to Chinese startups is old news in Silicon Valley. Does anyone with any brains really think that capitalists are going to invest in American jobs, just because it helps American workers? Or because H. Clinton or B. Obama bark at them until they comply with the Fed? Or because McCain "promised" the good "folks" of MI that even though many jobs were gone for good, there would be new jobs in the future. Green jobs. Yeah right.

Guess again Jackson, and don't hold yer breath. There's no guarantee ANY of all those supposed "green jobs" on the horizon are going to American workers. American corporations may corral the lion's share of the patents, copyrights and $$profits on new technologies, but what does that have to do with you, the American worker. The answer? nothing.

The American worker holds in his hands, collectively the most powerful political force on the planet. That power is never exercised, because he has no leadership, no organization, and no political outlet for the expression of his frustration. Mr. Nader, for one at least has the intelligence, background, and organizaitonal skills to get a populist movement off the ground.

If working people want their country back, they are going to have to get off their backsides and take it back. No one is going to give them the power or voice. While the republicans bash the poor, the democrats sell them snake-oil.

The hypocrisy of democrats like Clinton and Obama is simultaneously patronizing and disgusting as they preach their message of "hope" to the struggling masses. Like the slaveowners of the south, the heritage of the democratic party, they are the great white hope (aka "friends of labor") who will save the toilers by enslaving them further, but do it with a smiley face.

Mr. Nader is going to have to put up with the "spoiler" commentary from the broadcast media and democratic party regulars throughout the campaign. But "spoiling" is not the point. Forging a new party organized around real democracy and worker's rights and power is the point.

It's been done before. Read your American History starting at the end of the Civil War. The "Greater Atrocity" is to sit back and do nothing. The "Greater Atrocity" is to NOT use the election of 2008 as a party-building opportunity that will begin to reflect positively in local and state elections going forward. The "Greater Atrocity" is buying into the snake-oil being peddled by the democrats. If you can't even see thru the smokescreen, you're a lost cause.

really good ideas... it's important to use the web as a tool for webcasting and general information dissemination. Use it now, while there is at least a potential for free speech and participatory democracy, b4 it comes under control of captial.

The Great Depression was NOT caused by government spending, nor was it caused by over-regulation of free-enterprise. In fact the exact opposite is true. Read your history books next time before posting an inaccuracy like this.
