That is interesting! I didn't know there was any link between autism and trisomy. I will have to look into that. I'm sorry that my diagram is confusing. It was mostly my own quick notes as I was preparing this article to help me keep track of all of the terms I was seeing in primary sources. The replication of DNA is complex. It's amazing it goes as well as it does most of the time. To arrive at trisomy basically two strands of DNA do not (completely) separate as expected, and they are joined by a third strand upon fertilization. This can happen for a whole chromosome (Trisomy 21 or Down Syndrome is most well-known) or for a piece of a chromosome as in your son. It's always so sad when you want some and it isn't there. I swear this is one of my most important duties as wife and mom is to make sure there is always ice cream in that freezer.

I remember my dad letting his dog clean out his milkshake cup after our trips to the DQ...ah memories! She would get so excited that her nose would get stuck in the cup.

Very sorry for your loss, Kerri. Was there something red, too, so that Blue covered all of the patriotic colors? A red collar perhaps? Pets are missed permanently I think. I still miss the dog that was mostly mine when I was growing up, and she died before my kids were born. Pets are just special that way.

Thanks - I did realize that technically every Sunday is a reminder of Easter, so...I guess it is suitable year round, right?
