Is this the same kind of "movement" that sort of got people to quit logging their blog posts to twitter? If so I hope it's more effective... I like following tumblrs, but not at the expense of filtering through 95% twitter updates to get to the 5% content.

Nope, because in doing that you'd actually be discussing a balanced viewpoint... and nobody finds that entertaining.
