The United State was number 1 in the world for education for every year up until the early 80's. In 1980, the Department of Education was made a cabinet level position. We are now number 17 in the world. That is not a coincidence. The federal government is ineffective in educating our children, and needs to stay out. Let states and communities govern education.

Wait a minute, the President is giving biased opinions based on incomplete information that criticize men who protect us from the worst society has to offer? These are the guys who bullet-proof vests every day, not because they think it's cool, but because it's necessary. Let's stop Monday-morning-quarterbacking them. I wasn't there, you weren't there, and the President was not there.

This is propaganda, plain and simple. I bet she's hoping that if she states there are enough votes, the sheeple will figure its a lost cause to fight it, and will begin to make plans to deal with it. However, bravado is not what we need. We need a Speaker that can give the public accurate information, not one that falls in line with a President in a vain hope to further her own political career.

So if ACORN is corrupt, and they assisted the President in winning the election, and the President is still doing business with them, does that mean that someone will now have the stones to investigate the extremes the President has taken to push our Constitution aside and institute his own ideas of government?

Seriously, this will do nothing to help the situation. There is no good that can come from name-calling. It can only serve to antagonize North Korea. Its truly unfortunate our chief diplomat cannot see that. There should be someone in that position who can stand by American values, communicating them to North Korea, without resorting to grade-school-playground tactics. Equally troubling is that the President has said nothing about it. He either doesn't realize what Clinton did, or doesn't care. Either way, our President should be strong enough to not stand for America being represented to the world like that.

Does anyone else remember the days when the strength of our economy was all that was needed to inspire confidence in other countries to buy our bonds? The fact that we now need a salesman to gin up confidence in the American economy is a sad reminder of just exactly how far off the path we have strayed. If only Billy Mays was still around to pitch for confidence in the dollar...
