I know I'm two weeks late to this...but I think he was creepily hitting on you via acting out this old song, lyrics are "knock three times on the ceiling if you want me, twice on the pipes, if the answer is no." Still terrible but makes his weird texts have a little bit of context? Apologies if you had already thought of this!
