My dad and his girlfriend are very very into music, particularly the local scene in my hometown. He makes me go to shows whenever I'm in town. He's much more popular than I could ever be, I just sit quietly with a beer and smile politely.

When I was a kid, he would BLAST Tragically Hip (or the Who. Or maybe John Coltrane, dependent on mood and season) every Saturday morning at 9am on the dot and I posit this is how I am able to sleep through anything to this day.

Oh and growing up, the album we listened to on Christmas morning was Mario Lanza. Yep.
