I have a brother-in-law who was an innocent victim in a police pursuit. The stolen car crashed into his vehicle casuing him extensive injuries. He, like me, still believe and encourage the police to use pursuits in an effort to apprehend criminals who commit felony crimes. We cannot allow the criminal entity to run rampant in our society simply because we impose pursuit limitations on the police. If that were to happen, all criminals would escape. I truly believe if a criminal had harmed one of your family members, you would want them to chase the suspect as far as possible until they catch him. Pursuits are a must in our our society. That said, they are dangerous for all involved. I do not discount that one bit. But, again, they are a necessity to keeping our families safe and ensuring our society exists with rules and expectation and if there are those who choose to do otherwise, then they must be aware of the consequences they will face.

stealing candy is NOT a felony crime. Stealing a car is a felony crime. That is the difference. Has nothing to do with dollar amount rather, the crime involved. Many times car thieves use the stolen car to do other crimes as well as use them as rolling meth labs. Big difference between candy.

Sue the police for simply doing the job they were hired to do? You cannot be serious. The state does not have a no pursuit law. Each department has their own policies on pursuits. If the police do not pursue those breaking the law, then the criminals will know all they have to do is get in a car and take off and they will be allowed to get away. Now, how ridiculous would that be. The police are there to enforce the law and if necessary, to pursue those who are breaking the law and put them in prison where they belong. Getting into a pursuit for shoplifting candy would not be approproiate but for a felony crime, absolutely pursue.

If this was your husband or wife who was murdered you would do the same thing. It is not about the money whatsoever but rather, accountability and responsibility. Unfortunately, money is what gets peoples attention and forces them to pay attention. The county has had ample time to step forward and acknowledge the mistakes they made with Clemmons but have failed to do so. This lawsuit will force them to do so and to face up to the mistakes they made in hopes that other law enforcement families will not have to go through this crap in the future.

Where in the story does it say she used him to get here? Ya, that's what I thought. Stick to the facts. This POS shot and killed a woman while her kids watched. Nobody should have to witness something like this let alone a child. This is despicable. The guy needs to be die a slow, painful death. As Hannah said, maybe you and this POS should both stand in a wet sewer with electircal wires attached to your body. Bye bye.

You are the idiot. Anyone who does this is a MONSTER, and that is actually too kind of a description for people like this. Thankfully, you won't see Woodinville on the news for something like this or an IRS audit (a really stupid example you listed here and not relevant to the story) as Woodinville believes, stands for, and defends what is right and good in our society and admonishes that which is wrong, disgusting and shitty. It is people like you and this MONSTER who provide job security for law enforcement. Instead of coming to the defense of this MONSTER, you should be appalled and disgusted at what he did. Those poor children watched as their so called "dad" shot and killed their mom. That is something nobody, let alone a child, should ever see. Apparently, you defend the the shit bags of this world who belong standing in the sewer as they are attached to live electrical wires. Maybe you need to join them.

Execution??? Jackson should have shown up at the funeral of the Lakewood officers and then he would know what an execution truly looks like. Where was his big mouth at that time? Why was he not calling for special investigations at that time? Oh ya, that's right, because a black man killed 4 white police officers. No racism in that at all, nah, only in when a white officer shoots a black man is there ever racism. He is such a loser and a hard core racist himself.....not to mention the NAACP. What a joke of an organization, if you can even call it that.

Where was Jesse Jackson when Maurice Clemmons, a black man, shot and killed 4 white police officers in Lakewood. Where was his mouth at that time? Why wasn't he stepping up to the plate to defend those officers and verbally chastise the murderer Maruice Clemmons? Why was he not calling for a special investigation into hwy and how that happened? Why? Because Jesse Jackson does NOT care about obtaining equality or the rights of ALL innocent people. All Jesse Jackson cares about is himself and being on TV. Jesse Jackson is one of the major reasons there are racial issues in this country, along with Al Sharpton and the NAACP. Get rid of those clowns and I bet racial discrimination would fade away. They encourage racial issues more than they help with them. Jesse Jackson is himself and racist and tries to cover it up with the NAACP.

Apparently you did not read the part where the POS drove directly at the officers in an attempt to try and run them over and kill them. The POS did not give the officers a chance to ask questions. Tell you what, go stand in front of a moving car that is being driven directly at you with the intent of killing you and let's see what you would do? Stand there and get killed or shoot in defense of your life? I would recommend you reserve commenting until you have something intelligent to say.
