TriMet has responded by replacing the sides with aluminum. Really ugly but I guess effective against glass breakers.

TriMet is funded by fees, fares AND taxes, your money.
Thus these vandals are breaking YOUR glass.

I own one of those Microsoft Tablets. Not a bad tool (although batteries recently melted my stylus now it's no use). It was very handy and I used to heck out of it.
Now if I didn't need iTunes to install things (could side load), had a USB and a Ethernet connection, I would totally own an iPad. My needs mean those things are too important to spend $800 on a device that does not have them.

My wife visited several locations where Apple products are made (among other makers) and there were people lined up to make a buck an hour with no overtime, very few safety considerations who lived 8 to 12 in a 20-30 room (including toilet facilities) and were terminated if they made complaints.
Legalized sweatshops and they BRAGGED about how poor the working conditions were. ("Our people are treated horribly so YOU can save money!)
Any business that DOES NOT stay in the US and deals with the higher taxes, government regulations and expensive workers is cruel and should be shunned.

If the party was broken up at 11:30, they were also still not yet breaking curfew.
Teenagers make poor choices. Going to a party where drinking is happening is a poor choice. You typically just send them home. Since many came in cars, they likely just climb in and get dropped off.
Now CRIMINALS then go about breaking the law, people's property and stealing. These young criminals need to be found. Troutdale is not Portland and they could very well pursue these people.
Oh and attempting to steal the register is a felony. If the person is 16, they can be tried as an adult and serve up to 5 years. If the register had lottery tickets, it is a federal crime, and can be 10 years and $125,000.

Nothing, nothing beats a person face to face with another person. This is why places have sales teams, that is why the uniform will always be warn.
But there are times when you can't get there in person. You send a "message". You deal with it telecommuting style and hope you can work out the details remotely.
Is blowing up villages with hellfires from drones a good way to kill people? Yes, but I don't think any general would say you can win a war just by killing people. You must kill the desire to fight. Either by friend-ing, them or undermining their ability to wage.
Since they just need living bodies to wage, we need to befriend them. We need to make them NOT our enemy. Burning crops and scorching earth (Al a Sherman) won't keep them from coming.
So a balance approach of killing those we can't reason with, and reasoning with those we can is the best course.

It might not seem like much, but this is a huge step in space exploration. Keep in mind only two other countries have systems to align two space craft into local enough orbit to then dock (space is a little big). Not only that, but this is a milestone of technology and a required step for exploration beyond simple orbits.
This was so dangerous, NASA chose to perform the first of these maneuvers with unmanned flight vehicles. Now that was in the early 60's and technology has soared then then, but still an impressive feat and China's next step in reaching the Moon.

Could I be comfortable serving with them? Well I am old, fat and prejudice, so likely not very well, but the service is not for me.
The service is for the young and strong. Those young people are smarter than I am and know things I don't. Those young people (I know many) have no issue with only serving. because being openly serving is not like this parade (although here is nothing wrong with it). So if they don't have issue with it, why should anyone else?
I don't know why anyone NOT in the military would care.

I am confident, like you said, he could have lived longer. 2-5 years, maybe more. Grizzly old veteran paw to keep the pups in line. But this dog was busy. Living the kind of working life dogs are really meant for. The adventure I think my dog dreams about when he's kicking his legs out sleeping.
Was he young? Sure but think of it in people years, to him life was being a rockstar supermodel jet-setting all the best places in the world while hanging out with your best friends and dying at the ripe "old" age of 60.
May we all be so blessed.

You are young, and wealthy, you have brains and can speak well. You could easily displace Shaq in his job as announcer.
Let's say you get 3-4 more years. It likely means crutches 6-9 years earlier. And how soon will you be on them with the wear you have today? 60, 50, 40?
You can still play "celebrity basketball" with Barkley and Shaq (and own them), have fun at the weekend court, still make millions in endorsements (although i would stay away from medical ones), speaking gigs, TV/radio announcer or as a commentator.
I would hesitate to jump back into the NBA with the understanding I might end up not being able to jump at all.
