I'm trying to jailbreak i4 using redsn0w & tinyumbrella. When I hold shift and click restore it opens up my Pwnage folder but I can't get the iphone3, 1 4.3.1 8G4 Restore file to open. Is there something I need to do to this file to be exe.ispw? When I open it shows a firmware folder and a bunch of other folders that say windows cannot open this file. Tinyumbrella is running and the iphone show a usb cable pointing to itunes logo. When I try to dfu it goes right back to the cable and logo. The i4 is ver 4.2.1 with 03.10.01.
Thanks for your help.

I'm in process of jailbreaking i4 using tinyumbrella. I'm at the step where I need to restore. It's asking if I want to restore from backup of i3 or set up as new phone. Do I need to set up as new phone or is it ok to restore from backup of old phone?
Thanks for your help as always.

Can someone please tell me how to jailbreak my iphone 4? The version is 4.2.1 and modem firmware is 03.10.01. I downloaded redsn0w and tinyumbrella but I don't really know where to go from here.

I'm having a problem trying to get past restore. When I hold Shift down and click restore and box says look in Desktop I can see the Pwnage file and click iPhone1,2_4.0.2_8A400_Restore.ipsw it shows it in the "look in" but doesn't do anything else. I tried adding .ipsw to the end of the file name but I'm going around in circles. I can't get anything in the "file name" in the box . Any help is really appreciated.
thnx.
