Well, I don't know which Twitter client you use, but I do know that most of the popular desktop clients have a feature which allows you to filter out certain phrases. DestroyTwitter, for example, will let you filter any type of character or phrase out of your main time line(including usernames). It also has a feature to specifically exclude users from a time line. If said person is excluded or filtered out of your main time line, you would still see their replies or direct messages to you.

I don't think this functionality is available on the web client, but maybe there is a work around with the new Twitter Lists feature.

That's actually a great rule! I think people tweeting about food is a very good thing. Restaurant recommendations have become one of the most popular things on Twitter. My friend Zach Reed and I have actually made a site that encourages people to talk about tasty food on Twitter. http://mmmtastyfood.com/

The source for all the information in the stats in the post can be found in the video I posted a link to at the bottom.

Doug,

You're absolutely right. This is the point I tried to illustrate in the last paragraph of the post. There is no way we're going to go back now, or ever.

Chad, to follow up on your previous comment,

I could have easily have sorted the search results by oldest to newest, or even limited to a certain date/time range, and I would have found the answer I was looking for. At the time, I was so astonished by the number of tweets that were made in that single minute, that I ended up using that bit of information instead of 'when Gmail went down'. Twitter search is very versatile and powerful.

You're absolutely right, Chuck. Twitter certainly does level the playing grounds. You know longer need a blog or a podcast to voice your opinion on the web. Just followers.

It seems like Camtasia has a lot of potential. Did you purchase the software, or are you just running a trial?

Thanks for the feedback.

I've been known to blow off my blogs in the past, as well. BrandSwag has done a pretty good job of keeping me in check though. Every Tuesday, you'll see a blog on the BrandSwag site by me.

We're holding you to your promise Justin!
