I am weirdly great at catching things that are falling- just that sort of quick twitch unconscious response when you, say, knock a light bulb off the table and your hand shoots out and perfectly nabs it. I've done this in many settings with many different objects. Perhaps my body has overdeveloped this reaction in response to my general clumsiness? It's pretty handy and has astonished onlookers and also me.

I was all over alt.fan.monty-python too! My first access to the internet was in 1993 on my campus vax, and I was intrigued by the chat rooms with their ASCII art and silly macros. I even met a guy on alt.fan.mst3k and ended up dating him- we're still friends today! 1994 online dating FTW!

I've been signing myself up for things that get me out of the apt and among people, and I thought a choir/singing group would help because I've always loved to sing and I miss having a place to do it. I went for the first time on Monday, having overcome the anxious tendency I have to cancel plans at the last minute and no show, and it was great! I am so outgoing when I'm "out" that I almost don't recognize myself. I think I had started to buy into my self-talk re: no friends, nothing to offer. I made some older women guffaw and registered for the fall session. Excited to have made a positive step.
