I will agree, even as a Christian, that there are many an ignorant Christian haha. There are those that fail to THINK about what they are to believe and there are those that are less concerned with discerning exactly what God wants than they are with swallowing hook line and sinker the words of their preachers. Or worse are those who create the church of themselves and simply make it up as they go along to make themselves feel better. anyway, I digress. I completely agree with you that demonstrations and elections are the way to go. While I believe God and prayer were involved in the Founding, man had to carry out the plan. Good luck with the TEA partiers (partyers? neither one of those looks right haha) in your area!!
Rest assured, you are welcome. : ) I swear i saw that it said 7/9 on the website, but I KNOW that Beck, who created the 9/12 project said 7 of 9. And I think having atheists support the cause helps us more than anything. While I DO believe in a God, I think it helpful that there are people who do NOT but still believe in my ideals. It proves that you don't have to be a "bible-thumper" to recognize the LOGIC! I THINK, I am not a blind believer. So while I disagree with you on the existence of God, I respect that as your personal choice. Anyone who believes in the TRUE mission of this project, will welcome you with open arms. The TRUE T.E.A. Parties are not about religion or even party, but about common sense and the government serving WE THE PEOPLE. I hope you can find one that better serves the 9/12 project's mission.
HAHHAHA "i think we have resolved that problem" "oh, you did?" "welllll...i think we are well on our way to solving that issue"....."oh, well who won?" ....shocked face, little awkward giggle "they both did??" haha wow..... i love it. I almost feel bad for Biden. Almost.
I am LEARNING the value of a work ethic and also putting to use the values my parents have thankfully passed down to me. Apparently high school//college history classes are useless b/c my peer group (except for one other conservative I know) seems to want to repeat the mistakes of the past. Point being, you sound like a snotty, spoiled brat who can't think for himself. By the way, if everyone gets a free college education doesn't the value of a college education go down? I mean the reason people make more money as a college graduate is b/c it sets them above others in the job market.... if everyone has a college education, the purpose of having one (better jobs, opportunities, etc.) disappears. You liberals have such great sounding ideas, but nobody pauses (or, say, reads a bill that signs over the largest quantity of money any administration has ever seen) before acting and thinks of the consequences.
I am DEFINITELY not Cold War Era. I am YOUNGER than you. I am 19 and a college student..... and I am sick of you and others my age buying into this "socialism is good" crap.... and these "entitlements". I work close to full time (39.75 hours, thank you) AND go to school full time. I pay for my school both out of pocket and w/ loans while the rest of my peers bum off their parents/government grants and drink and stay out til 5 am and then try to take exams at 8am..... I made a 4.0 my freshman year....my friends who had their mommies/daddies/gov't grants fund their education made it into about the 2.0 range. I am by NO means perfect and there are some days that I am jealous of those who don't have to work for their education...but then I look at the "fruits of my labor" and I think they are getting the short end of the stick.
It is NOT okay to detain people suspected of terrorist acts in Gitmo, but it is okay to beat a man with a stick before he has been tried? What about his human rights? I am in no way defending child rapists/sex offenders-- I am merely making a point here. I thought NO ONE was to be denied the most basic human rights. I thought NO ONE , under the umbrella of Liberalism, was to be subjected to torture or brutality in the name of justice NO MATTER WHAT THEY HAD DONE. Waterboarding 3 terrorists for information renders us a torture nation, but beating an ALLEGED criminal in the street w a stick before (or after) he is convicted is justice. Go figure. Gotta love that Liberal Logic. Sorry So Long--- This was indeed a rant.
The other problem I have w the Columbia professors argument and that of the liberals in general is this: I thought that we as American citizens were NEVER to "lower" our judicial standards or "deny" natural rights to any human being. Why is it NOT okay to waterboard a KNOWN terrorist in order to save thousands of lives, but it is okay to beat an ALLEGED criminal in the street with a stick BEFORE he has had a chance to be brought to court ? Terrorists are expected to be protected by the Geneva Convention, BUT our own American citizens can be denied the most basic of rights outlined for them in the Constitution: the right to a fair and speedy trial before receiving punishment and the PROTECTION from CRUEL and UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT (i.e beating someone in the street w a stick...or maybe that's just me ?) ?
My argument is this: I have no issue with "vigilante justice" in the form of like tackling a criminal and restraining him/her for the police. Or if you see someone being harmed, you should have every right to retaliate and intervene in order to help the victim. However, when people start going out with their torches and pitchforks to seek out UNCONVICTED criminals and are allowed to take justice into their own hands...we are no longer protected by the system. That would mean that if I had an inkling that my neighbor may be abusing his/her kids I have the right to beat them over the head with a can of peas and bludgeon them w/in an inch of their life the next time I see them at Walmart. Rather than tipping off the "system" and letting it run its natural course. Again, if this guy DID do it, I'm not sorry he got beat down--but I also think the people that did it DO deserve to face the consequences of their actions.
And another unrelated rant: I was watching O'Reilly last night and about threw a fit. I don't know if anyone saw this, but there was a segment about a couple of "vigilantes" in I believe it was Pennsylvania (but i could be TOTALLY wrong... someone correct me if they know where this was) that beat an ALLEGED child rapist on the street. He is just alleged. Not convicted. And while , if this guy did this, I feel that a beating is the least he deserved , what PISSED me off is the liberal contradiction over this BS. I don't know what the guy's name is but he's a professor at Columbia and hes on the Factor all the time. He said that the man deserved it "because black women's bodies are not protected in this country" and that oft times sexual assaults go "unavenged." He said that this kind of "justice" is completely understandable and the "vigilantes" should not be punished for their physical assault of the alleged criminal.
so.... I mean we all KNEW that the media made Obama a demi-God ...but what is this utter CRAP coming out now!!??! Obama is above the UNITED STATES? ABOVE THE WORLD!?! Liberals talk about America's arrogance. Obama talks about the previous administration's ARROGANCE. And saying quite literally that President Obama stands ABOVE the world and that he is "kinda like God" is NOT arrogant? we suspected that the left viewed him as such, but putting it blatantly out in the open like that? Do they realize how ridiculous they sound!?
