Richard Haefner
Long time suspect in the Betsy Aardsma murder.
In the fold up area of the Riverside desktop in December 1966, a section of writing was discovered.
It said in the middle part 'blood,spurting, dripping, spilling, all over he new dress. Oh well, it was red anyway'. ie: her dress was red.
On November 29th 1966 a Confession Letter referring to the murder of Cheri Jo Bates was received.
Almost exactly three years later on November 28th 1969 Betsy Aardsmaa was murdered in Penn State Library. At first it was not noticed she had been stabbed as she was wearing a red dress.
The main suspect in the murder was Richard Haefner, an intelligent but flawed character with a hatred for women, a suspected molester of boys, and known to have an uncontrollable temper.
At the foot of the Riverside Desktop were deemed two initials r h.
Richard Haefner possibly.
Just above this it said 'she won't die this time,someone'll find her, just wait till next time'.
Was murder the intention or a miscalculation by the attacker and next time suggests a knowledge of his victim.
Richard Haefner knew Betsy Aardsma, Haefner told friends he dated Betsy and Haefner acted strangely before and after the murder, apparently revealing the crime to someone before it had it had been reported.
Was the desktop writing the future fantasies of a killer. Possibly Richard Haefner.

Halloween Card
The mask on the Halloween Card, similar to the mask worn by Zorro, the fictional character, thereby hailing the Z symbol. In Wikipedia it says and I quote, 'The character has undergone changes through the years, but the typical image of him is a dashing black-clad masked outlaw who defends the people of the land against tyrannical officials and other villains. Not only is he too cunning and fox-like for the bumbling authorities to catch, but he delights in publicly humiliating them.'
The Zodiac also relished mocking authority.
A Californio nobleman or Californian descendant harboring a double identity.
When Zodiac appeared from behind the tree at Lake Berryessa, is this being depicted on the Halloween Card with the eyes, and 'peek-a-boo you are doomed' slogan.
