I'm not aware that Chet pardoned anyone. He did commute two sentences without actually releasing anyone from custody. The commutes Chet issued simply allowed the parole board, should it feel such is worthwhile, to parole two inmates. If you can back up your statement on pardons, I'd like to see a link to a story about it.
There is a significant difference between "personnel" and "personal". The issues cited were personnel matters. Go ahead, look up the definitions.

By normal walking routes (on sidewalks and/or through the Ped Mall and not through alleyways), the photo of Lt. Brotherton is a block and a half away from either 217 Iowa Ave (Piano Lounge location) or 113 E College St (former Fieldhouse location). Really, if you don't have an appropriate stock photo and you don't want to take the time and trouble to go shoot a new photo, the article really doesn't need the extraneous distraction of an irrelevant photo or graphic.
No, they'll still build jobs in Mexico and China. And it's really not even about the wages the workers make; it's more about the hoops businesses in this country must jump through to meet OSHA and ANSI standards. I'm NOT saying such standards should be rescinded; I'm just pointing out that it's much easier to operate in much of the rest of the world than it is here in the USA.
That sounds a lot like the raging debate over permits to carry weapons. The people you most need to worry about carrying weapons are exactly those who carry weapons without worrying about having a permit to do so.
You want to exercise your right to free travel? Start walking.
Driving is a privilege, not a right.
I was looking on the Amtrak web site and I can't find an Amtrak route that goes through the Quad Cities. Would you please tell me more about this stop that you say Amtrak already has in the Quad Cities?
And how many of these ash trees were put here to replace the elms ravaged by Dutch Elm Disease?
That's not from the Bible, it's Chinese. Sometimes attributed to K'ung-fu-tzu (Confucius), sometimes attributed to Lao Tzu. I don't think anyone really knows who said that first.
