Just a bit late here...but anyway:

My S90 takes terrific photos and has excellent controls. However, I found the build quality to be worse than expected, especially for a $400+ compact. My previous pocket camera was a Canon SD200 (~$300, 2005), which felt more solid and indestructible. In contrast, the S90 creaks in some spots and the convex buttons don't have as good of a tactile feel as the concave buttons on the SD200. The directional buttons on the dial feel cheap. The on/off button is difficult to distinguish from the ring-function button. On the good side, the shutter button (the most important!) is perfect on the S90.

The good news is that the average build quality doesn't detract from the awesome photos the camera can take and probably has minimal correlation to how durable the S90 will be.

The LX3 - overrated. What's the point of a pocket camera if it can't fit in your pocket? I'm hoping the soon-to-be-released Canon S90 will offer better quality in a smaller package; i've been waiting forever for something to replace my ancient SD200.

For larger-than-pocket-smaller-than-SLR, the new micro-4/3s cameras from Olympus and Panasonic appear to offer quite a bit of fun (I've only tried the G-1).

Ok, the LX3 can fit in large pockets...but hey, so can my old olympus stylus 35mm camera...full frame, yeah!

The smart beggar knows that you can do a lot of panhandling while waiting in line. The real question is whether the people next to you in line for two hours are more or less likely to spare some change than the average passerby.

Also, Denny's does not run out of maple syrup, since they never had it to begin with.

The furthest west that Yuengling is available is approximately Cleveland.

So, if indeed you can get Chesterfield or any other Yuengling beers around here, please let me know where and i'll owe you one for the tip!
