I worked in the seattle VA for a few years...and ours is supposed to be one of the top VA's in the country. Never forgot the "we fry everything in beef fat" cafeteria

On another note I was at dinner in this place and watching another table eat. Mom was texting, dad was playing a video game on his device and the kid was watching a movie on hers. Food was arranged around the devices. I've seen this happen on dates too.

agreed totally but teenagers dont watch the news....and clearly they arent getting guidance from their parents. So we need other ways of showing them the ramifications of their acts. Facebook maybe. Public beheadings? Seriously though I think the only people watching the tv and computer news regularly are law abiding frustrated people.

^^ What he said....This appears to be the year of gun violence

Something has shifted where people now see solutions in violence, be it from the violent media culture, lack of access to mental health treatment, not sure really. I dont think the answer is that everyone should be packing but maybe treatment options, less glorification of shooting up the police in games and movies. Hard to stuff all that back in the barn so to speak.

...and in some good news I just adopted a stray wandering around my neighborhood, missing half her tail and very hungry and am busy fattening her up and getting her used to warm beds. She gets fixed next week.
