what an amazing place the old 5 & 10 was, so nice to be able to get anything you want all in one place, too bad that has become a memory.I remember Woolworth's store, with the soda fountain counter and all you need in one place.Oh, well moving on as times change.Little communities are very important as things get tougher, we all need to stick together.Hope your pot luck went well and that you got some work done on the house.

I just found this little box, I wonder if it sends a response to the main blog page.

I love your vacation description, it is perfect and a great way to rejuvenate and feed the spirit. Victoria did come by the co-op and checked us out, made some purchases. I hope she likes my candles. We are looking forward to seeing more of her and the crew this spring. Very exciting and nice to have something special to look forward to next spring. A great time of year to start a project as we all start to bloom after a long Maine winter. Joyce

Hi fellow Waldoborian, what a way to meet people in the area. amazing. Yes, the Medomak River Community Market is Sumners old store before he moved it to Damariscotta. Before "Fernalds" it was the 5 & 10, we have the old 5&10 sign hanging on the wall. Looking forward to meeting you. Would love to check out the house on Pleasant St. I am also still trying to figure out how to navigate this blog process. Happy Blogging. Joyce

so miss downeaster, maybe you can tell me how to do this blog thing properly, so glad to have someone to chat with about this project but not sure if I am doing it correctly. How do comments make it to the main blog page anyway. It's great to have connections up and down the coast. Make sure you visit the Pemaquid Craft Co-op when you are in New Harbor, working there today as I type this, very quiet here right now. Things are slowing down and the economy has not been helpful. We just keep moving on. What do you do down there. I guess you can tell what I do.

Thanks so much, I am a Mainer through and through having grown up on little Criehaven Island way out in Penobscot Bay. The lighthouse represents the shape of a candle and the water relates to my soaps. It's important to keep the light shining in our lives. Hope you make it up here sometime.

Hope you get a chance to visit Waldoboro on your way to some of your favorite spots. Waldoboro is beginning to shake it up. The home of the Five Masted Schooners back in the day.
Only a little north of Miami, LOL, just head north, can't miss it. Visit Seaside Soap and Candle Co. and the Medomak River Community Market on Facebook, or come in person. Lots to see. Many hidden treasures to discover here in Waldoboro, Maine
