With my first, my asthma completely went away.
With my current pregnancy, my asthma symptoms were worse during the first trimester. Shockingly worse in fact. But then after the first trimester, they leveled off to normal levels. My doctor pointed out that oxygen for you means oxygen for the baby. To my knowledge, very little (if any) inhaled medication actually gets into the bloodstream. However, in no way am I a doctor. Take care of yourself and breathe easy!!!

tl;dr: Sometimes pregnant women are too tired to be decent conversationalists.

Regarding the crib: we accepted a hand-me-down crib from my sister for our first kiddo and it has been perfect. I never even checked the recalls (I guess I failed on that part), but knew that it didn't have drop down sides (those aren't even sold anymore) and the slats were the appropriate width. I would do as you said: take it and check for a recall. The pressure to buy everything new is driven by the industry and I think it is absurd. The only place I put my foot down was for a new car seat, but we're re-using the first one for the second kid so obviously my standards have changed.
Best of luck!!

I also love the people who respond to someone asking a question about a product on Amazon with "I haven't purchased this product so I can't help you."
What?! Do they really think the person asking the question was waiting to hear from them?

Wow, was I wrong. She's my little shadow. We are so deeply connected that it blows my mind. She's only two, but she's the most amazing individual I've ever met. I'm really enjoying and looking forward to seeing her grow every step of the way and seeing where her life will take her.
I agree with slowseptember above that I think it's a great sign that you can recognize the pattern and work to not repeat it.
Congratulations! More girls in the world!!
