Congratulations!!! So excited for you.

With my first, my asthma completely went away.
With my current pregnancy, my asthma symptoms were worse during the first trimester. Shockingly worse in fact. But then after the first trimester, they leveled off to normal levels. My doctor pointed out that oxygen for you means oxygen for the baby. To my knowledge, very little (if any) inhaled medication actually gets into the bloodstream. However, in no way am I a doctor. Take care of yourself and breathe easy!!!

I use Ball's 4 oz jam/jelly and keep them all lined up in a drawer. I love it! However, I need more drawers because I have more spices than can fit in one drawer. Tiny kitchen problems.

I guess I should have gone with a reply like that the other day at a 2-year-old's birthday party. A woman I just met asked me if my 2-year-old was our only child. I just left it with a "yep." I was wearing a big coat and so I just look like I've put on 10 pounds and it isn't totally obvious I'm pregnant. However, I was tired and really didn't want to engage in that way with a total stranger. Maybe I'm just anti-social, but I did feel like somewhat of an ass afterwards.

tl;dr: Sometimes pregnant women are too tired to be decent conversationalists.

Congratulations on both your marriage and feeling a bit better! No one tells you that the first trimester is awful!! I'm finally out of it myself and while I'm not back to my normal energy, I'm able to tolerate my day better.

Regarding the crib: we accepted a hand-me-down crib from my sister for our first kiddo and it has been perfect. I never even checked the recalls (I guess I failed on that part), but knew that it didn't have drop down sides (those aren't even sold anymore) and the slats were the appropriate width. I would do as you said: take it and check for a recall. The pressure to buy everything new is driven by the industry and I think it is absurd. The only place I put my foot down was for a new car seat, but we're re-using the first one for the second kid so obviously my standards have changed.

Best of luck!!

Or the people who give one star reviews because the product was late to arrive.

I also love the people who respond to someone asking a question about a product on Amazon with "I haven't purchased this product so I can't help you."

What?! Do they really think the person asking the question was waiting to hear from them?

This was me almost two years ago! I was sure I was going to have a boy. Nope - girl parts in the house. I was worried because I also do not have a great relationship with my mother. I could go on and on about our relationship, but due to the nature of my relationship with my mother when I was growing up I had a really deep fear that I would just not connect with my daughter.

Wow, was I wrong. She's my little shadow. We are so deeply connected that it blows my mind. She's only two, but she's the most amazing individual I've ever met. I'm really enjoying and looking forward to seeing her grow every step of the way and seeing where her life will take her.

I agree with slowseptember above that I think it's a great sign that you can recognize the pattern and work to not repeat it.

Congratulations! More girls in the world!!

I love The Toast! I can't tell you what it means to me that this site exists when on a daily basis the rest of the internet disappoints my soul. I know I don't comment much/often/at all, but the community here gives me hope for humanity. Thank you!!
