several things come to mind here... first - i swear that i saw a tethering app that implemented a way to hide tethering data packets in a way that would have them register as regular iphone data... why doesn't mywi implement this? you'd have to imagine that they know how. second - tethering is an official feature of ios and carriers have chosen to support it by essentially charging a premium and capping the data usage. however, using an un-official tethering app means that you are not using the feature built into ios, which to me means that it would be very difficult for a carrier to legally (and that's the key word, legally) charge you for something that you're not using. i would hope that users affected by this would look at this angle and perhaps take this up in a legal channel. third - and this sort of ties this all together - it seems to me that mywi has gone to great lengths to make its software replicate the official feature built into ios and i've noticed this over the last several months; every single update seems to further replicate how the ios feature functions. perhaps this replication was a bad idea?

i never knew this... is the back glass really not gorilla glass? or is that just a pop at the lack of durability in general of the glass back? if it's not, that's pretty ridiculous. i actually cracked the back glass of my i4 a week after buying it by dropping it about 3 or 4 feet from my car door handle to the ground. i had a bumper and a zagg on it and the back glass still basically shattered. i was lucky enough to catch apple in a giving mood at the time and they replaced it - which leads to my point...

apple is well known for the quality of their products and their balance sheet. i have a feeling they're not going to include a glass back on the next iphone simply because when it does crack from a short fall it either makes them look bad or a rouge, i mean nice, employee allows a replacement which is a hit, albeit small, to their bottom line.

... even more to the point (for those of you calling for only LTE to be considered 4G), LTE is not even technically 4G itself.

anything new or different been going on here? in particular, has anyone using t-mobile in the US had success with 4.3.2 and 01.59 unlocked with US? i noticed that one of the mods posted a way to get into the "carrier data network" menu (removing and re-inserting sim without hitting 'ok'), is that the solution there? MMS and FT working (if activated with an official at&t sim) on t-mobile with this method? thanks all...

i'll have to give this a look. but if that's the case, then it would seem to make sense that something like this could possibly be built into US (but of course that's a laymen's opinion). some hope.

so really this is sounds like it needs something within US to fix it, if it's even possible. you're right, the issue is merely cosmetic - in fact with cleanstatus, i've decided to remove my signal strength (and carrier name) entirely and i actually like the way it looks. you either have coverage or you don't, the signal strength is just there to make you 'feel better' about it.

but what i'm trying to think about now is - i go through all of these pains to maintain an unlockable BB and it seems like if i sell the thing, in order to make sure whoever i sell it to gets a fair deal, it needs to be on 4.2.1 and can't be on the latest and greatest, which is kind of a bummer. i've found a few features, namely home sharing, pretty nice on 4.3.x.
