For roughly how much time does the pumice float? Also when it sinks and if we take it out would the water evaporate again resulting in making the stone float again?

Someone told me that refusing to accept a currency note (when given legally, and not as a bribe!!) is a punishable offence by the Indian Government, but I’m not sure about this.

Yes that is correct. According to the economics book which I read in +1 or +2 Coins are "limited legal tender" while currency notes are "unlimited legal tender". Which basically means you can make a payment upto a certain amount with coins but after that the person can refuse to accept coins but for any amount he cant refuse to accept currency notes.
