not even close to 50,000 against the Mets. Enough said!!!!!!!!
No sell out last night! Not even 50,000! That was a disgrace!
if they can sell 50, 000 plus tickets for the remaining games with the Mets there is no hope for a sellout this year!
They can spin it it all they want with their smoke and mirrors accounting but the fact remains, no sellout this year to date!
Not even opening day!
Well another section in the stadium that's not worth the price of admission. My cousin came to sit with me in section 420 last night after spending a few innings in section 406 row 9. They could not see from centerfield to right field. They missed Cano's HR to right center. Posada's double to center and Tex's HR to right . They could not see any of those plays sitting in 406. Now I remember sitting in the old stadium in right even in the last row and you missed the right field warning track and wall but not center or the rest of right field!
How can you design a place like this? They have tickets for todays game same section row 12 but are not even going to the seats. Instead they will find a place to stand on the second level. This explains why you see patches of empty seats in some sections, fans already know how bad the seats are and don't bother going to them. Fire Levine and Trost now!!!! So anyone with tickets for 406 beware and complain before you go upstairs!!!
thanks for the honesty! I was at the game last night (but sold to Saturday and Sundays tickets). It was a painfully slow game until the 9th but it was the first time I believe that the place was nearly filled when the Yankees came back (when they showed other come-backs before the inning from the new stadium on the big TV who can see how empty the place was for each of them)
great hustle by Tex when most players would have jogged around and fans need to remember and appreciate that
Since Bloomberg is running for re-election and keeps interupting every game with 1,000 commercials on both radio and TV, he should be contacted and he should and could make this happen!
The lower levels seats (moat, main and 200 level) are better seats and views in the "fake" stadium. However, the terrace (tier box) and grandstand (tier reserve) seats are further back than the "real" stadium. Remember, both stadiums are 138 feet high. To get an idea of thedifference between the fake stadium gransdstand seats compaired to the real stadium tier level simply take the last 14 rows of the real stadium, add about 10 feet for additional leg room and you have the grandstand seats. The terrace seats are the first eight rows plus additional leg room of the old reserve tier seating. looking at both photos you can get a sense of what I'm saying. I was in row B in teir 2, now I'm in row 10 of 420, my next seat neighbor was in row M in teir 1. We figured that Row M would be about row 1 of the fake stadium and we are now it row U. Whe I sat in the first row of the terrace for batting practice it felt about the same distance as my old tier seat.
Its done in other stadiums so it could be done here. They simply have security at the doors leading to the Legends club under the stands (as they do now) and only those with wrist bands can enter. there are enough passgae ways from the other seats into the moat area so fans can enter and exit without going through the exclusive Lengends club. This can be done very easily if they want it to happen, problem is they will find every excuse not to make it happen.
While this is a step in the right direction, Trost is still not allowing the average fans into "his house". The sections listed are from the area in right a few section down from the pole where the "moat" ends to the bulpen in right center. In left its the same, a few sections down from the pole where the "moat" ends to the bull pen in left center. Basically we got the outfield. Nowhere near the dugouts or the infield. better than what we had but not really a victory. Yankee fans will have to go to Baltimore or another stadium to see their favorite Yankee players up close.
Trost still hates the average fan, he thinks this will keep the press off his back. Need to keep up the pressure.
The fact remains that they did not sell out an historic opening day. You can't tell me they would not sell SRO tickets if they had sold all the seats. Who would leave money on the table?
Once again Trost tells Yankee fans to take a hike! Sorry Lonn, we didn't know this was your home. We didn't realize that you want us to know our place and stay where we belong. Afterall, we are the hired help and you don't want us to mingle with you or your rich friends. Be honest Lonn, we are an inconvenience to you, a necessary evil. Never mind that without us, the building would be dead. There would be nobody in the place. We are the Yankee fans! We are Yankee Stadium! It was dead after the 1994 strike. We brought it back to life and made it rock! But how do you reward us? You tell us to stay out of your house. Oh, but you do need us to buy some dirt, seats, and other items from the "Real Yankee Stadium", you said it was an opportunity to own a piece of Yankee history. Thanks! Lonn, the ghosts didn't come across the street because you and the security guards wouldn't let them in. They didn't have the pedigree. Now the ghosts want nothing to do with the place, it's not what they represent. They don't want to be in "your home". Bad Karma!
