Extension to #3: You write the sentence "She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen" somewhere in there.

When I moved to Los Angeles, my dad gave me a hatchet to keep under my carseat for this exact purpose. Slash to protect myself from crazy Angelenos. I usually forget about it, but whenever I vacuum my car, I find it again and have a moment where I think fondly of my dad.

I worked at a Chili's maybe 6 years ago, so perhaps the policy has changed, but all we were allowed to eat for free were the chips and the soft drinks. If you wanted a meal, you could buy it half price, but you still had to buy it. I remember getting in trouble for making myself a quesadilla with the little fajita tortillas and shredded cheese.

I suspect they are doing it because public drinking fountains can be difficult to find in some areas of southern Europe. And free public bathrooms are often not a thing, meaning you would have to pay to go find a bathroom sink to fill up your bottle with. So they needed to stock up when water was offered to them.

I think your awareness means you're probably doing just fine. My advice would be that if you move and find yourself bumping into someone, then just try move your appendage back to where it was before. Also, an honest "Sorry!" makes everything better and makes it clear you are not trying to invade.
