there was over 50k at the AI final last year.. and who's 'they'. god I hope you don't have a wife, daughter, mother or sister.. suppose you think 'they' are lucky to have the vote...
I think the sooner the GAA and LGFA become one the better. Its complete nonsense that in this day and age we are still treating our ladies like second class citizens. The level of the ladies game is now on par with the men's and at time better. Total dinosaur stuff.
You will find that is the whole point of this motion. Donegal don't think its fair playing in Dublin's 'back yard' so if its fair for Monaghan, Tipp etc to play in there own 'back yard' then its fair for the Dubs too and as said before it would mean Dublin would play an away game, a neutral game (Croke Park) and a home game in Parnell Park. simples....
Think the point Tallaghtban was making about hotel rooms is the lack of them in the sticks. Reckon you boys have deeper pockets then us poor auld Dublin folk, sure you could buy a castle down the bog for the cost of a 1 bed apartment in the capital.
The Dubs are not supporting their team in the same numbers anymore. WHAT!!! GO FIGURE.. Dublin GAA is bigger and better then ever and the support follows suit.
So what would you do @Thepride?. Make Dublin build a new stadium.. play in smaller less impressive stadium? and leave fans disappointed because they cant get tickets or perhaps make them wear wellies or blindfolds ?? wait I have a novel idea, lets split the county in two?? go on tell us what you would do??..
Would you stop, this is all anti Dublin BS.. the Dublin support to these games wouldn't change a great deal from one year to the next. The only reason attendance to any of these big game will fluctuate will be due to the opposition. Look at the semi finals Dublin were involved in over the past 6 or 7 years, all had attendance <80k apart from this years semi final, this was not down to Dublin fans not turning up to support their team it was due to the Galway fans not making the trip east mainly down to their success in the hurling. Plus a trip to the big smoke isn't exactly a cheap day out.
Dublin could build a 40-50k seater stadium of their own to shut this cr0p down but that would be a complete waste of money as there is a perfectly good pitch just off Jones' road that would sit empty when the lads on blue are playing on there new fancy pitch.
This run Dublin are on will like everything come to an end and the GAA know that hence there are doing nothing about this...
If the Dubs weren't on this great run of success then there would be no issues. If it was any other county then there would be no problem
Would love to see him captain the team in 2020, not that it would be too late for future Ryder cups but I think 2020 would be a fantastic year for him to get it. It was great to see the European team win so will at the weekend, just pure team work.. unlike team USA who are just a bunch of individuals..
