In addition to the Blockbuster bins, you may find some real gems at places like Marshalls (discount clothing and home products store). I got a collector's DVD of How the West Was Won (with postcards and background booklets) and Rio Bravo (more booklets about the movie). Each cost about $5.00 a piece, and yes they were in their original wrapping. I also saw a copy of the Lord of the Rings triology blue ray for about $20 (I about dropped my dentures on the floor over that one).

Wow, this just blows me away. It shouldn’t I guess but it still does. If seeing Sonnie Johnson on film at a Tea Party event, then Mr. Kaufman would have been positively apoplectic with the crowd at An American Event this last July 2nd in Northern Virginia. He would have seen not only Blacks, but Americans of every stripe. He doesn’t get it, the left’s Cool Aid will kill this country. Mr. Kaufman and the others on the left will hate life as more and more as people educate themselves on this country and its government. We may see more of an exodus from the left towards a more sound ideology.

Next comes the old Charlie Chan movies and their portrayal of Chinese. After that will be most westerns pre-Dances with Wolves. Let’s see what else, oh yeah, what about all of the old WWII movies in the Pacific and their Japanese soldiers. This might offend someone today, kind of like Hollywood’s use of Middle Eastern men as terrorists. Sorry, strike that my sarcasm got away from me Hollywood is too scared to put Middle Eastern men as terrorists, they’ve got to be Caucasian men from “fly over country” with their guns and God. Hold on to your DVDs folks, the thought police are coming.

If given the choice I’d rather slam my tongue in the car door and have my wife drive around the parking lot for a while than watch her show.

It pains me to say this (since most of my immediate family is on the left side of the spectrum) but most of these folks are just not too bright (yes that’s an understatement). I’ve seen too many discussions descend into insults because someone disagrees with their beliefs and counters them through thorough, logical arguments. Then someone like Whoopi or Joy or their ideological bent goes on to drop the racist card or something else not worth printing. I feel like I’m watching my country and my culture slowly die on national/international TV. Our ancestors worked, fought and died for this country and these knuckleheads are destroying it with what seems like impunity. I just wish that boycotting the sponsors would work, but it seems like many in America are too apathetic to do it, besides George Soros would probably bail the View out.

A note to Lionel Chetwynd and Norman Powell to reiterate what others have said (and to quote a very wise man) “Trust but verify”. Time and their actions will show whether they are being truthful for just covering their six. I'm shooting for the later.

Wow! When I heard this on the news this morning I thought maybe I was hallucinating due to a lack of caffeine. Plouffe and his buds in the WH really are suffering from rectal/cranial insertion (head up butt syndrome). And some folks wonder why things in this country are going down the tubes like they are.

Maybe in 2012 the loud collective pop you hear will be these yoyo’s pulling said cranium out of said orifice.

This cartoon has me wondering how the union bigwigs live on others dues. I'd love to see someone do a documentary comparing how union and non-union workers are living in comparison to union leadership (e.g., the Teamsters, UAW, etc.). Just makes one think of where some of this money goes.

As I read Charles' and John's comments from yesterday I'm struck by a certain amount of sadness. You see like many who've commented here I too am a California native. Back in 1997 I returned from a one year tour of duty in South Korea and came to DC to work at the Pentagon. I retired in 2004 and have settled here in the People's Republic of Maryland and yet I have no burning desire to return to the land of my great-great grand parents (my familty came to California in the 1850's and settled in San Diego). My dad and step-mother still live in California and my dad occasionally complain about things out there and yet still hold tight to the liberal agenda. It makes my want to beat my head on the desk in frustration. With the cost of living there, taxes, crime, etc. I'm now one of those folks who says "It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there". I sometimes wonder if there's any hope for California.
