Now I'm kinda HOPING she was abducted and that it's not an elaborate scheme to cover up the murder of this baby. Too many times that's been the case. It's a shame mental illness doesn't cause sterility.

I certainly don't think the speeders are acting in my best interest.

A car is considered a deadly weapon, and you should take care to whom you lend it.

It's like giving someone a gun. If you know someone's crazy, you probably shouldn't do it. And if you know someone's a speeder, you probably shouldn't loan them your car. And giving them a gun AND a car is just asking for trouble...

Don't you ever watch Judge Judy???

"The roads aren't any safer."

Source please.

I've driven 380 quite a bit over the last 6 years, and there is a HUGE difference in how people drive (everyone is going about the same speed and there are less people "jockeying" across 3 lanes) AND I have YET to see an accident along that stretch... something I'd seen quite a bit before cameras.

So I'd be interested to see any information you have that might contradict what had seemed (to my eyes) to be a change in how people are driving = more safely.

If gay marriage is "approved" by the general public, these people will need to find someone else to feel morally superior to. It's all such a hassle! First with the women, then the blacks, now the gays?!? What's next? Treating Muslims like equals? Enough is enough, I say! Bigotry is hard work.

Why don't these people start worrying about saving STRAIGHT marriage. What's the divorce rate right now? Yeah, the gays are the real threat....

You might be onto something. I'm sure there are people right now planning the next step if gay marriage rights are overturned.

Unlike legislators, Justices are to put their ideological prejudices aside and vote on the legality of the case in front of them, which is why they aren't voted in... they have less loyalty to any particular voter demographic. BUT... (and it's a big one!) If they have to make legal decisions while worrying about keeping their jobs, then we're going to run into problems.

Iowans essentially voted in favor of a 3rd branch of Legislature. I know it's used a lot, but it's a good analogy: Like with Civil Rights in the 60s and Women's Voting Rights, sometimes courts have to make decisions that the mainstream voters are either afraid or unwilling to make.

My apologies for using "face hole." The rest of my point still stands.

But thanks for the rant... It was pure entertainment. Let me know if you need help finding your meds.

Different doesn't mean better. Lange seems like an arrogant jacka.ss, something that wasn't changed with the refusal to take Braley's calls. Answer the phone, explain you're waiting for all the votes, and bid him adieu instead of acting like a 12-year-old girl. I voted for 4 Republicans this cycle and he was NOT one of them.

IA is one of the few states that Forbes has given 4 out of 4 stars for financial responsibility with only $80/capita debt (as opposed to states like IL and WI with $1400/capita). Our real estate market is growing steadily and our unemployment rate is significantly LESS than the nat'l average during a recession. No politician is perfect, but please... DO SHARE where Braley (or Culver, for that matter) failed us. If you have a good argument based in sound evidence, I'll listen. Otherwise you'd be better to keep your face hole shut.

I was thinking the exact same thing - they took the other child away and gave it a chance for a real family.

I can't imagine how horrible it would be to give birth and have someone swoop in and take it away, but then again I can't imagine how someone could beat their child to death, so maybe she doesn't FEEL loss.
