I don't like Bill's arc's ending here at all, because it feels so derivative. Moffat had a few really good ideas over the years, and now he just keeps recycling them, doesn't he? So Bill goes off to explore the universe with another immortal and/or non-human person. Good for her. Except that's basically the same ending Clara got. Bill was a unique wonderful person, and she derserved her own unique wonderful ending, rather than a copy of someone else's.

I completely agree with everything you wrote.
Except one thing, I'm not surprised about anything. The reason people ignore what makes Walker so horrible is simple and obvious: he's not white.

It's much easier to talk about racism or cultural appropriation when a white person is the bad guy. But a black person being a bigot? Yeaaaah good luck with that. I'm sure as hell not going to be the one to bring it up.

I guess there simply isn't much to talk about yet. The Woman Who Fell to Earth was a pretty standard Who episode, nothing that really sticks out either way, a somewhat generic and forgettable threat and villain, a been-there-done-that story, and I don't see how things would have played out any differently with any of the previous Doctors, except maybe some minor details.

Which, of course, was the whole point, to reassure the audience that even though we have a new doctor, it's still The Doctor and everything is going to be pretty much the same as before - which does kinda feel like the same they did whenever they introduced one of the previous doctors. Although, it has been a long time, I might be misremembering...

I suppose it will take a while for us to get to know her, she doesn't even know yet who she is, so how can we? But that's also exactly as expected, I didn't really fall in love with Twelve until the end of his first series.
