Really... REALLY?!... Are we so sad we need a reality show based off of her hair????
I'm sure many who passed by the complex on I-5 saw this coming. I don't see a whole new generation buying RVs like these. First: gas prices are astronomical, second: a large amount of retirement accounts went belly up, third: the younger generations didn't experience the summer travels like the older generations did. If anyone has paid attention, even celebrities are buying used monicos. Everyone is trying to save. A half a million for a travel trailer doesn't seem reasonable anymore.
Drug addicts have a sickness that takes years to heal. Most fight their entire lives to keep themselves clean. Even if she changes her mind, she shouldn't have her child. A few days won't make a difference. Possibly a few years with supervised visitation, but even then, the little one shouldn't have to know what she did. That knowledge will last a lifetime and doesn't usually help.
Lets hope the little one never has to know what she did. I am hoping a loving home will show her baby the love he/she deserves.
No, those girls aren't. If anyone wants to read the national geographic a couple months ago on afganistan, they will see how common child brides and abuse are. The burkas and niqabs hide age, bruises, and dignity. Free society can only do so much... thats why this law is directed toward third party individuals. Hopefully in a less than a generation these women will see were trying to help with these laws and will be able to stand up for themselves.
All I hope is the meaning behind this law is to try to help protect the women in the muslim societies. I know there is a whole lot of hatred toward islamic peoples, rightfully so, but only because of a small minority of radicals. If these women wish to wear a burka for strictly religious proposes, I understand why they would be upset. If they are required to wear them because of abusive husbands and families that only wish to control them so they don't ' shame the family name', then by all means, it should be outlawed. In the middle east a good number of women are trying to change. They are leaving the home without the facial coverings, driving and walking without escorts. They see it as a call for womens rights. A lot of those same women cover up when they worship, so there is a direct difference between respecting their beliefs and standing up for themselves.
I think I understand what you were trying to say here. Italy has to get to the root of the problem and it doesn't start with the burka. It begins with the majority of islamic society. Their rules and their beliefs are incredibly outdated, but the country can't attack those areas if their society. Don't get me wrong, I am all for change in the way women are treated in their home countries. If italy or france were to make a law banning all muslim 'beliefs' they would be persecuting the religion. I think this us a great way to start opening their minds up to the fact women are not property and can not be censored. I love that third party individuals will be charged. That gets right to the root of the issue without directly stating it.
I know there could have been a million different reasons she shot her landlord. I was only sharing my experience that I have had. Believe me, I dealt with a lot of sexual harassment for over six months before I just had to say no to the landlord. I am young and really didn't understand renters rights at the time. There are many girls that I personally know who have experienced the same and worse. I was shocked that some people think I was coming across as a stuck up bi**h. I was only being a voice for women who have been in a situation like that and came out hurt, wronged and embarassed. Sexual harassment isn't something to be taken lightly, and most women don't speak out about it enough. My comment was the first thing that came to me when I saw a woman who was accused of murdering her landlord. I am sure I'll receive more TDs for this, but I didn't think airing the complete story I went through would be helpful to this blog. I still fear him finding me. I don't condone murder, but I will always stand by women who have been harassed by men who feel they hold power over them.
I hope the rest of the story comes out and she tells what happens to far too many woman who rent from homeowners. Maybe those men will see this story and it will really hit home. I have been in a situation like that and thank god I had the strength to stand up for myself. I didn't care if I lost my home or not. This woman probably was scared and felt trapt.
I can't imagine how breakfast the next morning with the two roommates may have gone. Awkward....
