Oh dear. I am surprised by how legitimately sad I am about this! It feels like a real loss. I haven't been a super active commenter, but I followed Nicole and Mallory since The Hairpin days, and have been reading the toast since the beginning. i've been to Toast meet-ups and even met Nicole at one.

I will mourn part of my day that The Toast occupied, while looking forward to your next endeavours!

Hey all! I was wondering in anyone has any opinion of, or experience with hypnotherapy? I've been looking into it a bit for a problem of mine, and part of me thinks it`s a sham, and another part of me thinks it kind of makes sense? The meditation and repetition aspect of it appeals to me. I have no plans to spend any money on it, but have been looking into certain tracks and playlists.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I am having too much fun cackling at this Can Lit generator that I just stumbled upon today: http://canlitgenerator.com/

"Three undergraduates from diverse backgrounds go hunting to reconnect with the false, nostalgic simplicity of their youth."

I'm almost positive I've read that before.

I don't know if it's the best food I've EVER eaten, but my fondest and most mouth-watering food memory is when my best friend and I went to Montreal for the weekend, and on our way out of the city, picked up a few dozen warm bagels from St Viateur's and a pound of butter. We put the pound of butter in the cupholder of the car and just kind of...dipped our warm bagels into the butter, as we drove off into the sunset, listening to the soundtrack of the Lion King musical. Sesame seeds everywhere.

Also, this week at work, a complete stranger who I had never communicated with before, signed a professional, work-related email to me with "Love, Ben". And I thought it was so strange and hilarious.

You guys, this happened in Toronto, and it is my favourite thing. It just feels so representative of Toronto as a city.

It has been forever since I commented here! But I have a running related question?

I started running in January, a complete newbie, and eventually ran a 5k! Between runs my knees were really acting up, and I'd been having issues with my knees before I even started running (trouble kneeling and squatting, lots of gross grinding and clicking noises) and between runs they'd feel kind of stiff and swollen. I stretch before and after runs, and I was fitted for proper shoes. I went to the doctor about a week or two before the 5k I'd signed up for, and she said I could continue running so long as it didn't hurt WHILE I ran, which it didn't, but also sent me to get x-rays on my knees.

So, I ran my 5k, though not as well as I would have liked. Things got in the way and I never got around to going for the x-rays. I signed up for a 6k at the end of the summer, figured I had plenty of time to prep, and that I deserved a "break" from running. Two months later I haven't run at all (though I'd been biking). I finally went out for a run the other day, and didn't even make it down the street because my knees hurt quite a bit while running. They're fine when I walk. The pain wasn't debilitating, but it was enough to make me think I maybe shouldn't be running on them? I could have possibly continued, but I didn't.

Obviously now I'm going to get those x-rays...but...is there a way for me to keep running in the meantime? Am I doing the right thing in not running? Should I still get back out there?

I hate when I finally manage to motivate myself into fitness, and it feels like my body is against me!

I use Stila Stay all day liquid lipstick, in fiery. It's the best, and I get so many compliments on it. And they have two other shades of red as well, I think, if fiery doesn't work for you. It seriously lasts so long. I found it did try my lips out when I first started using it, but either I'm used to it now, so I don't notice anymore, or my lips got used to it? I dunno, but it's my favourite and I will buy it forever.

Also, it's like 30$, which is a bit pricey, but I wear it for going out or special occasions only (maybe once a month?) and it's lasted me about 2 years.
