The AmeriCorps Pledge
As an AmeriCorps member, you are expected to adhere to the AmeriCorps pledge. ( If you don’t have a pledge certificate, ask your project director for one.) The pledge represents the commitment you have taken to serve not just this year, but in the years ahead.
The AmeriCorps Pledge
I will get things done for America -
to make our people safer,
smarter, and healthier.
I will bring Americans together
to strengthen our communities.
Faced with apathy,
I will take action.
Faced with conflict,
I will seek common ground.
Faced with adversity,
I will persevere.
I will carry this commitment
with me this year and beyond.
I am an AmeriCorps member,
and I will get things done.

The armchair liberals of this country want rationalize everything and pass judgement upon a situation that they have no intimate knowledge of or the wherewithal to expedite their own escape.
It is easy to say "We did not execute the best alternative to resolve this issue" from the comfort of your living room while the media tells you what to think....it is quite different and more difficult to imagine yourself or a loved on in that same scenario, having to worry whether or not you will survive.
The point is....everybody has a better resolution until THEY are on the wrong end of the gun.

"Every time there is an earthquake there are people who claim to have predicted it," he said. "As far as I know nobody predicted this earthquake with precision. It is not possible to predict earthquakes."
It always bothers me when someone says it is impossible to do something.
It bothers me more when the talking head is purported to be an expert that has a vested insterest in the infallibility of their entity. To admit the individual was correct is to admit that the gallery of "experts" (with private funding!) were wrong or incompetent....
