Fresh is delicious, as someone has already mentioned. If you're feeling for Chinese food, I'd head over to King's Cafe in Kensington Market.

Head over to Roncesvalles/High Park on the west end of the city! High Park is gorgeous and huge and Roncy is filled with adorable boutiques and awesome food. My recommendation (if you're meat-eaters) would be Barque Smokehouse for the best bbq ever, and then heading to Ed's Real Scoop for Burnt Marshmallow ice cream.

Also super accessible by TTC! The streetcar goes along Roncesvalles and High Park has it's own subway stop.

Frozen tortellini with either some marinara or pesto for quick pasta, and frozen potstickers, dumplings and edamame if i'm in the mood for some Chinese/Japanese food and feeling too cheap to go out that night.

Sabriel by Garth Nix is about a girl who has to go to her necromancer father's rescue when he's trapped in death by a threat to their kingdom. She gets a sassy cat creature for a familiar and finds and rescues an enchanted prince. The two sequels are also pretty good and have female leads.

I also really liked the Alanna the Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce (girl twin switches with boy twin to become a knight, he becomes a mage). It's a 4 part series I read over and over from about 12 and while I haven't read them in a while, typing this up makes me want to go dig out my copies!

It's interesting that euphemisms for genitalia are consistent though the centuries, for sure.
