What a horrific tragedy for this family. I offer my sincere condolences. Why do you keep dogs in town, locked up in a kennel? What is the purpose of an outside dog in town? On a farm, sure. I think we all know that answer; they are vicious, and guarding something perhaps? I feel so bad for the family's loss of little Vanessa. But I think we have some unanswered questions here........
This is a weird story.........I swear, people call the news about ANYTHING! And, do they NOT proofread before they put this stuff online??
you are probably right. But, the shooter is most likely mentally ill. I have been a psych nurse for many years. obviously, he wasn't being treated. I am praying for everyone.
I am so touched by this. It brings tears to my eyes as I read it. A 9yo girl with hope and life, brought down by a selfish, SELFISH person. God Bless You, Christina. May you look down on us and keep us safe................
I agree with you. I think it is a good idea for small shop owners (liquor stores, etc) to protect themselves. But why does the common person need a concealed weapon? I don't understand. My ex is getting a permit, and it REALLY scares me, because I know first-hand how c.r.a.z.y he is!!! My daughter is scared about him carrying a gun. I think it will be more scary on the streets now...........
I will laugh and LAUGH if DJK pleads NOT guilty. Already admitted to the cops that he used marijuana, took a urine test, and it was positive...........what an IDIOT. NEVER,NEVER admit to ANYTHING! until you have legal representation. DUH.
We as parents HAVE to teach our teens that is is ok to call us, NO MATTER WHAT TIME, NO MATTER THE SITUATION, no questions asked if they need a SAFE RIDE HOME!!!!! I told my daughter this numerous times over her highschool years. And ya know what? I still tell her now, and always will. BE THERE FOR YOUR KIDS!!!! Praying for all the families...........
May peace be with the Thomas family, and the Aplington-Parkersburg community.
I work as a psych nurse, and if there is ANY question as to whether someone is on a police hold, we CALL BEFORE THEY ARE RELEASED. One phone call, that's it. There should be paperwork on the patient's chart, also. And I agree with many; TAKE DOWN THAT PICTURE OF HIM!!!!!!!
I have been a psych nurse on 2east for over 10 years. Believe me, if the police dept is to be notified, WE KNOW IT, through paperwork, phone calls, etc. This is a HUGE error by the people at Covenant. And before you call people "loonies" and assume we "release them from 2east" everyday........Educate yourself on Mental Illness!
