You may be interested to read an analytical blog post I made yesterday: <a href="http://gaggle.info/post/166/twitter-trends-are-me..." target="_blank">http://gaggle.info/post/166/twitter-trends-are-me...

I've created what I consider to be a far superior site (based on the new WP P2 microblogging theme) w/ 8 "Dimensions" @ http://8-D.us/www -- just like twitter, all users post messages, but there are auto-update functions and many other features that make this microblogging community (it's actually a SHARED COMMUNITY with 8 topics / areas of focus, rather than millions of individual microblogs separated from one another).

I've posted a blog article about how "small is beautiful" also applies to search and/or media companies -- see: http://gaggle.info/post/160/small-is-more-efficie...

Paul Krugman has posted an answer to this question in his editorial (in today's NYTimes.COM):

Thus, in his speech Mr. Obama attributed the economic crisis in part to “our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age” — but I have no idea what he meant. This is, first and foremost, a crisis brought on by a runaway financial industry. And if we failed to rein in that industry, it wasn’t because Americans “collectively” refused to make hard choices; the American public had no idea what was going on, and the people who did know what was going on mostly thought deregulation was a great idea.

I'm Norbert Mayer-Wittmann (aka nmw = "New Media Works" ;)

I run this site -- and lots of other sites too.

I'd love to hear what you think about the site ... -- indeed: I'd love to hear what you think about anything at all!

I think Obama should champion open source technology as a foundation for open and transparent government.

In the Discussion "Is Unemployment a Problem?" ( http://conversative.net/blog/2008/12/06/is-unemployment-a-problem), one of the conclusions so far has been that we need to consider "job security" as a global phenomenon -- in other words: that today, we live in a world in which jobs can easily move anywhere on Earth.

My comment doesn't seem to be showing up here -- so I have posted it at: http://conversative.net/blog/2008/12/15/comment-post-to-what-social-causes-and-service-organizations-are-you-a-part-of-that-make-a-difference-in-your-community

Hope this works!

Hi perdueb,

are you somewhat of an expert in matters related to "volunteerism"?

If so, then I would like to highlight your ideas, share your "knowhow" with others interested in volunteer work, etc.

If you feel this might be right for you, then please don't hesitate to contact me so we can discuss this further!

Hi Ginny,

I've set it so that you can post the above comment as a "stand alone" article (e.g. about "Healthcare coverage").

Hi Ginny!

Thank you for you thoughtful response(s) -- and welcome to the conversative network!

I am wondering if you might be interested in sharing some of you knowledge and expertise regarding health & healthcare issues (or are there other topics you might wish to move forward with)?

If so, please consider registering here at the site and that way I can configure it so that you can post stories as well!
