Before I remembered that you were quoting, I thought you were saying you had hated Phantom Tollbooth so much that you had written Norton Juster for a refund. I was both horrified, and concerned that Phantom Tollbooth was terribly problematic and I had never noticed

My family used to keep rats, but only as food for the snakes. I kept my distance from the whole process but I assume the snakes were fed to a proportionally more horrifying creature and so on, until at midnight on Midsummer's-Eve the ghoulskitters were fed to the Dark Patience and a bountiful harvest was ensured
