Dammit John! Why did I not know you lived in Monterey Park! I live next to you (or should I say "lived") in San Gabriel and would have loved to have hung out with you or at least bought you a drink. You are absolutely my favorite online writer and I never fail to read your daily posts, and I always look forward to one of your top 20, 25 or whatever lists. But I will still look forward to your future posts. I can only wish you the best for you and your family, and I predict more success to you in the future. Cheers!
Up until a few years ago, I enjoyed the comedy of George Lopez. His comedy centered around his upbringing, about growing up in a disfuntional latino family. I was familiar with the people he poked fun at, and found him very funny. However, as Bush derangement syndrome hit the left, and Hollywood in particular, G. Lopez caught the disease, and I have not been able to appreciate any of his humor. I saw him perform in Los Angeles several years ago. I could suffer quietly his oh-so self reverential attitude, and latino supremecy attitude, but he destroyed his ability to be entertaining when he compared Arnold Schwarzenegger to Hitler; oh so very original, and totally tastless, complete with German, no, Austrian accent. I am sure any caucasian would be ripe for ridicule if a "Mexican" accent were to be attempted.
