Apparently she didn't get a degree in tact.
We all have had situations in conversations where the other person has a strong accent and yes it can be frustrating. Someone in this position should have the tact and patience to deal with it.

I am also a retired vet but decided not to apply at Boeing. Their here today gone tomorrow style of management just doesn't suit me. Being in the Military I was always more into job security than flashes in the pan.
